Festival Success

The inaugural Go Racing in Kildare Festival which recently took place over seven days was a great success and one which all three racecourses will develop in the future.

The Curragh staged their final two days of racing on 11th and 12th October with competitive racing over both days. Highlights in the track included the victories of Irish 2000 Guineas runner up Rayeni in the Go Racing in Kildare Festival Waterford Testimonial Stakes and Lady Lupus in the Listed Lanwades and Staffordstown Studs Stakes, who Aidan O’Brien trains for his wife Ann Marie.

Moscow Flyer was the special guest at Punchestown on Thursday, while the opening race day of their season took place on Wednesday with Willie Mullins and Ruby Walsh winning with Scholar’s Mate and Our Monty on Wednesday, while Paul Carberry and Noel Meade were in the winners enclosure twice on Thursday with Donnas Palm and Casey Jones. Sizing Europe made a successful debut over fences in the Buck House Novice Chase.

Beat Surrender gave trainer Ger Lyons and jockey Johnny Murtagh success in the Derrinstown Stud Birdcatcher Nursery at Naas on Sunday, while John Oxx and Michael Kinane teamed up to win the Listed Garnet Stakes with Aspectsoflove and the October Handicap with Eridiyna

The Best Dressed Competition judged by Lorraine Keane and Audrey O’Dwyer was won by Eibhilin Nic Ghiolla Bhui from Sallins and she can now enjoy spending our 1000 euro voucher from exclusive boutique Kalu.

The Go Racing in Kildare Marquee was busy throughout the week while members enjoyed a behind the scenes tour of the magnificent Kildangan Stud, the stables of Michael Halford and RACE on Thursday morning
